Elizabeth Warfel (born 1997) is a New York City based artist. Born and raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, she studied art history and studio art at Middlebury College in Vermont and the Sorbonne in Paris. She then moved to New York, studying painting at The Art Students League of New York. Influenced by her life in New York and growing up with the development of technology, Warfel captures contemporary society as a digital native with her saturated imagery of both people in real life and images from the internet. Her current practice focuses primarily on oil painting as she explores the societal trend towards escapism in an increasingly digital world.
